Inspired by Carrie Bradshaw, Rodney Taylor returned to school to obtain their degree in writing and graduated from San Francisco State University with said degree in Creative Writing. Not sure what he/she wanted to do with it, after all who does know what to do with their degree, he/she meandered about their writing career aimlessly for the first year until a friend suggested they join a writing group that focused primarily on plays. Their writing career soon took off. He/she soon found themselves writing, producing, and acting in plays, which was very new to them. They went on to write the short plays Eros, Poolside, Good-Bye Cupid, Fairy Godmother, Baby Christina, Motherly Advice, and P.S. I Love You. Their play writing eventually led them to co-found Left Coast Theatre Co., an LGBTQ theater in San Francisco with Joe Frank. After a bad career move that left them pondering life, they took a few years off from writing to focus on themselves and bring them back to a “happy” place. These days they are focused on their mental health and resuming their writing career. No longer concentrating on plays, they are branching out and exploring their interest in comedic, short stories of sorts while they traverse the country with their “one” chihuahua, until they find their forever home, hoping that maybe Cupid will still pay them a visit. (Hopefully after a visit to the optometrist.)
